about

Rubén Carrasco journeyed the ways of hyperrealism, sealed a pact with the form and got to know its essence. During some time, he focused his craft in the rational reality and got acquainted with the classic Greek criteria of the form. One day, he perceived a placid retreat existing next to the form and, since then, he inhabits the abstraction of the form. Now Rubén observes other realities and through his paintings flow emotions that have not yet been named.

The work of this artist installs us in a filter of visual interpretation where will and spirit softly comply and calm their constant dialogue; immediately after, the visual elements of the other form appear, they seduce us with their enigmatic narrative and they approximate us to those sensations that some experience in dreams or deep meditations… impressions where reason is discovered incomplete and it is the body who remembers.

Carrasco’s stroke inserts the light in that zone in which it creates a balance and, according to its intensity, that light may become an accent, cross the work disjoin tingly or be a vanishing point. In the art of this painter, the light salutes “otherness” (that is to say, a different reality) from the conscious plane, it agrees with the organic asymmetry and shelters the decomposition of recurrent spheres in movement.

The palette of Carrasco has sparkles and shades that he obtained at some other time, atmospheres which breathe conceited blues, gears undermined by sober dusks and ferocious thundershowers, reddish dimensions that ramble through earthy spaces and emerge infuriated by the sublime human perception of the circle and its consequences.

Rubén extends the shades of other forms in the sensations recovered during the observation of industrial debris and shapes moments of a universe in which the philosophical subjects are also those of the soul.
